Welcome

This workshop gives a brief overview of the hardware set-up of SMART Boards as well as an overview of SMART Notebook, then dives into the Extreme Collaboration (XC) Add-On.

The XC Add-On allows students to contribute content to SMART Notebook with their mobile devices in a simple and easy interface.

The workshop will provide detail instructions on how to install the XC Add-On, as well as how to set up and use a collaboration session.

Agenda

1. Install XC (To be completed before workshop)
   Follow these detailed instructions to install the Extreme Collaboration add-on into your SMART Notebook software.
2. Basics of SMART Board Hardware (5 minutes)
   Learn the basics of the SMART Board hardware.
3. Basics of SMART Notebook (5 minutes)
   Learn the basics of the SMART Notebook software, including tabs, and popular tools.
4. Basics of XC (5 minutes)
   Learn the basics of XC to get started.
5. Activity 1 - Create a Session (10 minutes)
   Get a more in depth look at creating a session and all the extended settings.
6. Activity 2 - Join a Session (10 minutes)
   Learn how users/students join a session, and become familiar with sending content to SMART Notebook through any web browser.
7. Activity 3 - Use XC with Koosh Balls (10 minutes)
   Learn how to incorporate XC in other fun activities found on SMART Exchange.
